Thai cuisine – Thai Senses

I believe I’ve said this before but I have to say it again: I love Thai food! I bought the Groupon for a Thai restaurant called Thai Senses a few weeks ago. If you haven’t used Groupon before, I highly recommend that you give it a try. Anyway, I went to this restaurant for the first time the other day and absolutely loved it!!

Thai Senses was nice and quiet. The decor was simple but classy (well, I thought so anyway). The server was very friendly and attentive. She always knew when she was needed. I didn’t even have to ask for a glass of water after I finished my coconut juice (Thai food could be spicy!).

We ordered Tamarind Tofu (deep fried tofu), papaya salad, vegetarian pad thai and the vegetarian basil noodle. The server asked us how spicy we wanted the salad… 1-5, with 5 being the spiciest. I said 4. 4 was indeed very spicy!! If you’re not into spicy food, you may want to go for a 1. Both my friend and I liked the papaya salad a lot and we challenged each other to try spicy level 5 next time. The papaya salad on their menu comes with fish sauce but since we’re both vegetarians, we asked the server to replace the fish sauce with other sauce. We didn’t know that there would be dried shrimps in the salad but we were able to pick those out easily. I would ask them not to add the dried shrimps next time though.

The vegetarian pad thai was grrrreat! One of the best pad thai I’ve ever had! The basil noodle was spicy but not as spicy as the papaya salad. It tasted really good too.

The cost of the lunch was roughly $50 for 2 people. It was a bit pricey but we both enjoyed the lunch very much. I will definitely be going back for their pad thai.
