I was off work early the other day. I usually leave the office at around 4:30pm but since it was the day before the Easter long weekend, my boss told us to leave at 3pm. Instead of going straight home, I stopped by at a park by the lake (Lake Ontario). It was peaceful and quiet because I guess most people were still at work.
I should have brought my DSLR camera. I brought it with me to work last Tuesday and Wednesday, hoping that I could stop by a park to test out my new lens. I didn’t get a chance to do that. I decided to leave it home last Thursday and there I was, sitting in front of the beautiful lake on a sunny day. I took a couple of photos with my iPhone (it’s an iPhone 4S so the resolution of the photos is still pretty decent! Haha!) and spent the next 45 minutes or so reading.
Like many things in life, sometimes we just have to go with the flow. Take whatever life hands you and enjoy the ride. Some people tend to over-think and by doing so, they tend to complicate things.
I was talking to a friend the other day. She was about to begin a new project but found it difficult because she didn’t think she had enough people to work on it. I was a bit surprised because I thought she had a lot of “helpers”. We talked about some ideas but the responses I got from her were “No, you’re over-simplifying things.”, “Trust me, this is not going to work.”, “Those people may not feel the same way you do.”, blah, blah, blah. She didn’t even want to give those ideas a try. When you have no idea what to do, at least do something. Take a step and then go with the flow. Sometimes taking a simple step could change what you see ahead of you. I remember reading this quote somewhere. I can’t recall who said it but here it is:
If we don’t take that first step, you’ll never be able to move forward.
Anyway, I did go back to the park with my DSLR the next day and took more pictures.
